For the controlling radical Progressive wing of the Democrats, the arrow of time and arc of history propaganda they indoctrinate themselves with only allows one direction option, onward through the fog. The whole progressive ideology of pushing the fringe to the center and forcing the center to the fringe, has pulled the conservative movement kicking and screaming onto the demographic playing field traditionally held by Democrats for 100 years. It’s what the Republicans do with this middle class melting pot coalition that will determine success or failure for the MAGA movement as the pain point potential increases as Trump’s team begins to unwind the destructive effects of the last 4 years.
You're right, but unfortunately I think domestic retail politics will have little sway in all of this. The most salient part of what you just said is about the ideology. They will interpret public recalcitrance here (on trans or crime issues) as an obstacle to be bulldozed, just in more indirect ways.
So probably what we will see is redoubled efforts to fortify their censorship/information/lawfare institutions on the home front, and stepped up efforts to entrap Trump in foreign wars abroad.
On both counts they are still immensely powerful, and unless Trump has serious guts in fighting them, they will be right back in four years. I"d like to say I'm optimistic, but I'm not.
I think we will see very quickly through the cabinet confirmation process where things are headed. I agree the Uniparty blob is not going to just roll over and surrender, but if Trump and his social media army effectively use the bully pulpit they have been given, political animals fear nothing more than a existential threat to their reelection. The real risk is his first 100 days getting consumed by geopolitical shenanigans and/or a financial crisis, both of which have high likelihood of being orchestrated.
True, this. And in my view the cabinet picks have been a mixed bag. Patel and Hohman signal that he's serious. Others, less so. I'm bothered by the fact that his initial offers to the Russians have been so ludicrous. It shows that he and his people are still within the propaganda bubble.
It is rather interesting who was left on the condemned list. Does anyone believe that Biden had a clue about, who's death warrants he was commuting? Partisan BS. What they really wanted was to make federal executions moot for a generation. It takes a least 20 years to move a case through appellate challenges. HENCE, no federal executions till 2045.

Precisely.
