Losers: The American Sun for posting links that go to paywalled articles. Come on. Post the links so we can read the articles.

Winners: The archiving websites

Here: https://archive.ph/GEGPl That is a link that works for the Houllebecq article.

Every American wide scale political arrangement has been a Federation.

Immigration can’t destroy Federation in America, it’s our natural and recurring state from the Iroquois to the Internet and every arrangement in between. the Iroquois Confederation , the articles of confederation, the federalist constitution of 1789, the southern confederacy the Civil War, and then quite organically, the Internet.

The Iroquois confederation and the Internet as the book ends is conclusive.

As for the destruction of the present system of Federalism, that was well advanced before the 21st century wave of immigration. Federalism was gutted of power by the New Deal government, however that ends.

Prior attempts at centralization of America whether it be the 🇬🇧 Crown or The Seneca Indians (via Mohawk Terror of the other tribes) failed. Where the Crown and the Fathers of Seneca failed, DC will not endure. They got away with it because of WW2, then the Cold War.

We are living through the failure of centralization now. DC is dying, the Democratic Party is dissolving before our eyes, with all its arrangements. Decentralization was never going to be pretty, it looks like it’s going to be pretty ugly.

Will we need a new Federation?

Probably. In any case we’ll have Federation.
