We had to scrap two essays. One because the insanity of the judge’s final actions in the Trump Hush Money NY Trial forced the writer to go back to the drawing board. It might show up Monday.
Winners
Wine Aunts - It’s here. Norm Eisen, DA Bragg and Judge Merchan did everything possible to make it so. Who cares about potential overturns on appeal. The big NY Times headline of Guilty. The ladies will put that in a scrapbook.
Elon Musk - He knows if the system is going to these lengths to stop Trump from being president, they will go after him just as strongly. Whatever his goals are, he will have to harden his heart.
Team Blob - They gunk up the works for the next five months.
Libertarians - For a 48 hour period, people paid attention to them.
Yemenis - They keep scoring wins which is amazing considering they were starved out for years by the Saudis.
Trump - It’s do or die. Guy came back from a billion dollar bankruptcy. No one should count him out.
Losers
Normalcy Fans - They fell for that sales pitch four years ago. No stops on the train. We started show trials with the J6 circus. The Trump witch hunt is the cherry on top.
Team Trump - No matter how this goes, more legal distractions for months on end.
Trump - If he loses in November, it is most likely house arrest in Mar-A-Lago until he dies.
Palestinian Advocates - The focus this week is on Rafah. Massacres in the Middle East are unfortunately common, so it is hard to sustain the outrage machine no matter how awful. There is no stopping this unless Biden is reelected and the pro-Palestinian Democrats at State have a freer hand in ‘25.
