San Francisco Residents - For a brief moment, their city looked clean and orderly.

GOP CT Win; That’s great news for GOP in Greenwich.
The problem is the interests of the Republicans in government are with government and government money, contracts, and keeping the bureaucracy happy. This is why the GOP caves, to elect the GOP to do what it supposedly stands for means a grave reduction in power and money. The last President to reduce government was Harry Truman’s cuts to New Deal Bureaucracy, on the heels of WW2, contraction and the rise of the National Security state as counterweight.
It’s possible to be Rudy Giuliani or Fiorello La Guardia and simply rule more honestly, better, efficiently and above all trim crime and street disorder and so make progress. The very instant times are good then “Progress” returns. Look at what happened in NYC; 2 GOP mayors made the city so safe and secure that.... Progressives started voting Democrat again. NYC is now in the Detroit spiral and no election will reverse the results, as Finance slowly moves on and out.
Nor will urban office real estate recover.
All it takes is for more kids to come out of college and the machine will never really be defeated.
